A Creative Solution
Captivate Action was crafted in 2013 by founding director Lyndall Grant. While working in the U.K. as an actor and fight choreographer, Lyndall sought out training for performance capture and discovered that none was available. Anywhere. In response, Lyndall created Captivate Action.
Captivate became the first company in the world to offer training in motion capture and dramatic combat performance. In 2016 Lyndall returned home to Australia, and brought Captivate with her.
Action, Movement and Mocap
Captivate are leading specialists in direction, performance and training of dramatic combat and movement for theatre, film and performance capture. Our fight choreographers and movement directors work across the performing arts industry, from fringe and independent pieces with emerging artists, to main stage shows and commercial projects with the world’s largest production companies. In every project, our remit is to always create work that tells the story you want to tell – work that is thoroughly captivating, highly inventive and as painless as possible to create. Enriching the industry
Captivate is also dedicated to offering a range of accessible and industry-relevant training for performers in dramatic combat, movement and motion capture performance. We frequently run workshops, evening classes and intensive courses. Our team is also invested in teaching at drama institutions, such as the Victorian College of the Arts (the University of Melbourne), the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, NIDA Open and 16th Street Actors Studio.

In the U.K. Captivate Action is now directed by fight directors Amy Floyd and Andrew Young, and our expanded family now works across both the U.K., Australia, and world-wide. In Australia we enjoy a growing team of experienced creatives, training fight directors, workshop facilities and students, and we’re excited to make new connections.
