Workshop Facilitator
Maeve is a director, playwright, puppeteer and actor. She is a BFA Acting graduate (QUT), and alumni of Lemony S Puppet Lab, Shakespeare and Company’s Winter Intensive (USA), Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble (Apprenticeship), and Circa and Flipside Circus’ youth performance ensembles.
Meave has a deep love for stage combat and performance capture, and holds SAFDi Fundamentals and BADC Standard Certification.
Maeve’s directing work has toured internationally with new work POLES: The Science of Magnetic Attraction premiering in Australia before being award-nominated and sold out the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe season. In 2022, Maeve also founded TART Theatre Collective with Em Tambree, which was Company In Residence at The Motley Bauhaus during 2023. While in this position, Maeve co-created and facilitated a series of generative new writing events, directed Back Pocket, and worked as both principal actor and puppetry director for the Australian Premier of Crocodile Fever, to critical and audience acclaim.
As a performer, other highlights include Starweaver (Madness of Two/State Theatre Company South Australia), The Tale of the Fire Pheonix (puppeteer/puppetry creator – Adelaide Symphony Orchestra) and lead in award winning short film ‘Ballad’ (Dir. Roe Bonnici, Winner: Best Short Film – LA LGBTQ+ Film Festival). As a playwright, Maeve’s debut work Ladies Write Letters of Lemony Love was one of Broadsheet’s Top Five Picks for the Fringe (2020). She was a selected writer for ATYP’s National Studio (2021) and She Writes at Theatre Works (2022-23). Her play Simple was recently one of four finalists for The Cooper Prize (16th St).
